Meet the PMB entrepreneur who made his village boy dreams come true

From humble beginnings to possibilities unimagined- this is the story of 28-year-old Zamani Bhengu.

At just the tender age of four, Zamani suffered a painful loss, the loss of his father. He was raised by his mom Ntombiza thereafter and even though life was difficult for his single mother, she preserved.

Ntombiza managed to send her son to Umgungundlovu FET College, where Zamani studied financial management, specializing in entrepreneurship and business management.

His decision on what to study in higher education was inspired by his early introduction to entrepreneurship on the streets of Pietermaritzburg. This is also where his soon to be business idea was born as Zamani, sold several imported brand watches every morning.

After a lot of patience and research, Zamani established connections with those who had more knowledge then him with regards to watches. His efforts were rewarded when he partnered up with international brands, designers and assemblers to establish his very own brand.
