Gauteng MEC requests 3 days to resolve learner placement issues

Gauteng Education MEC, Matome Chiloane has asked parents to give him at least
three days to resolve learner placement problems in the province. Over 276 000
online applicants have been placed in various schools in Gauteng, however many
parents are still dissatisfied with the schools their children have been placed in, while
some learners are still without a school. Phemelo speaks to Chiloane about what his
department is doing to urgently address the issues as the 2024 academic year kicks
off. Phemelo also speaks to Fleurhof community leader Selby Leshaba and Director
of the National Professional Teachers' Organisation of South Africa [NAPTOSA’s],
