Mapopane and Hammanskraal bus depots shutdown

Drivers from the Northwest Transport Investment company (NTI) are on an alleged strike at the
Mabopane and Hammanskraal depots. Drivers and support staff apparently prevented busses from
operating over outstanding salaries. It’s understood the impass has been going on for months.
Phemelo speaks to SATAWU Deputy General Secretary Anele Kiet, he says the community is the one
that has shut down the depots and it is not workers who have downed tools.
