Opposition parties slam government for opposing load-shedding ruling

Lawyers representing Eskom in the North Gauteng High Court have argued that exempting key
institutions from load-shedding will disrupt the energy action plan.
The utility is appealing a ruling made in the court last year - to not implement loadshedding in
hospitals and clinics, schools and police stations or to provide them with alternative energy
solutions. The judgement comes after the government was taken to court by the UDM and Mmusi Maimane on the matter - where other political party’s like ActionSA later backed the two. Leader of the Build One SA (Bosa) party, Maimane joins us on the line.
