City of Joburg to demolish Diepkloof hostel

The city of Johannesburg has finally decided to demolish the notorious Diepkloof hostel. The metro has been playing the blame game with the Gauteng government over who is ultimately response for health and safety at the residential building for some time now. The hostel has been a site of a series of protests by disgruntled residents, venting their anger about the living conditions there.
