A local South African man, named Amos Ndlovu, is making international headline news for his act of bravery and heroism rescuing a little pup.

What began as a normal day for Amos, a gardener in Champagne Valley in KwaZulu-Natal, had a dramatic and scary end.

As Amos was busy cutting the grass at a client's residence, he heard a terrifying call for help from a man asking for assistance. The man's name is James Stewart, who on the day was taking his afternoon walk with his wife along the Bell Park Dam. As the two were enjoying their afternoon stroll, they saw Scamp the dog running to cross the causeway after his owner.

But Scamp was quickly swept up by the current and down the raging river. James, who lives nearby the dam, rushed back immediately to try and find a rope. But Amos didn't think twice about this,he dropped his tools and came running. Braving the raging waters at the dam, Amos volunteered to be the one to head into the water to try and rescue Scamp.
